The NBA has long needed an expansion franchise. Teams are able to have far too many quality players who never get to see the court which wastes the talent of numerous young stars. Previous NBA cities like Seattle and new, aspiring cities like Las Vegas have long awaited a franchise to come to them, but why not experiment with a team in a different country. The NBA has already gone north to Canada with the Toronto Raptors and in this concept, they move south to Mexico City with the Aztecs.
Primary Logo
The Mexico City Aztecs are represented by a vibrant teal jaguar mask with a basketball encased within. This not only pays homage to some of the earliest native Mexicans, but it also acts as a memorable and unique team logo approach.
The color palette consists of a teal with secondary colors of black, yellow, and orange
Uniforms
The uniforms feature the mouth from the jaguar mask to encase the player number while also being surrounded by the team city and name. The light and dark uniforms utilize similar formats while the alternate features the abbreviation "MEX" on the front.
